Food Selling at the Market

Want to sell at Heart of the City Farmers' Market?

You must provide a certified producer's certificate to be eligible. Available room for new certified producers is very limited and we are currently only accepting new organic farmers.

We also accept some products not produced on a farm or sold by a farmer. These items include prepared and hot foods, meats, and cheeses. We currently have a two year waiting list for selling hot food on Wednesdays. We do have room on Sundays for prepared and hot food and are currently accepting applications.

Please read the market's rules and regulations (included in the application packet) carefully to ensure you can meet all requirements to sell at the market.

Once you have completed your application and included all the required documents, mail the application to:

Heart of the City Farmers' Market
New Vendor Request
1182 Market Street, Suite 412
San Francisco, CA 94102

We get a large amount of applications and have a very small staff, so we apologize that we cannot contact everyone who applies. We will call you if there is room for you at the market or if you are a good fit.

We do not accept vendors with the following items:
Arts and crafts
Clothing and jewelry
Books and other printed material
Souvenirs, gift items, and greeting cards

If you are interested in selling these items, there is a UN Plaza Gift Gallery at the United Nations Plaza on Monday, Thursdays and Fridays from 8am to 6pm. This is an outdoor market of antiques, collectibles, arts and crafts, and more. It is not affiliated with the Heart of the City Farmers Market. Contact Wayne Giang of San Francisco's Department of Real Estate at wayne.giang@sfgov.org to find out more.
